Are You Crazy? You’re Telling Me This Is a Fugitive TV Show?

Chapter 110 Terrifying Hypnotic Techniques and the Overwhelmingly Arrogant Captain!

Wang Yun was busy on his computer, tirelessly researching everything about Nancheng Bank.

He was a man who took life as it came. An extra twenty million a day for staying hidden. It was a lot of money, but for someone with Wang Yun’s capabilities and the shock value points he had accumulated, even if he left the show money wouldn’t be an issue.

Challenged by Nancheng Bank’s boast of unparalleled security, Wang Yun was eager to test it.

He delved deep into every piece of information available on Nancheng Bank.

With today’s advanced technology, robbing major banks seemed like a plot reserved only for movies. In the real world, such heists had become a thing of the past.

Robbing a small bank branch might be feasible, with a potential haul of a few hundred thousand or even a million. But targeting a major bank was a different ball game, virtually impossible.

Breaking into a bank vault? Out of the question.

And the logistics of moving massive amounts of money? A nightmare. For instance, a hundred million in cash weighs over a ton, how many people would it take to carry that? Without a large vehicle, it’s unmovable. And that’s not even considering the difficulty of breaking into the vault and then transporting the cash. It was an insurmountable task.

As he pondered deeply, his face took on a contemplative expression. Indeed, hitting a major bank was an immensely challenging, perhaps an impossible feat.

‘I wonder if my god-tier lock-picking skills could crack a bank vault. It should be feasible, right?’ he mused to himself.

After all, this was a god-level skill from the system.

Wang Yun was deep in thought, meticulously crafting plans in his mind. Eventually, he resolved to visit Nancheng Bank the next day to see for himself. Only by personally inspecting the place could he figure out his next move.

Having decided, Wang Yun took some time to rest.

The day quickly slipped away.

The following morning, Wang Yun donned a new disguise and carried a million in cash, setting out with determination.

Given that Nancheng Bank was located in the city center, adopting a new appearance was necessary. He opted for his ninth disguise mask, the one without an identity. Unless absolutely necessary, he would not use his disguise with a legitimate identity.

Arriving at a shopping mall by taxi, Wang Yun changed into a set of upscale clothes.

Nancheng Bank’s headquarters was an imposing structure. The spacious lobby buzzed with customers conducting transactions. Recently, thanks to Wang Yun’s activities, the bank had seen a surge in popularity, attracting far more customers than usual.

Wang Yun confidently strode into the lobby and approached the duty manager.

“Hello, I’d like to deposit some money and also explore some investment opportunities,” Wang Yun said directly to the manager on duty.

“Oh? Sir, you’re interested in our financial services? How much are you looking to invest? Let me get one of our staff to guide you through it,” the duty manager responded promptly.

“I’ve just liquidated one million from other banks and thought I’d come to check out your services,” Wang Yun said as he opened his backpack with a smile.

“Hmm?”

The duty manager’s eyes widened in surprise upon seeing Wang Yun actually carrying a whole million with him. “Sir, one million is quite heavy. Please put it down, and I’ll personally assist you. Let’s go to the VIP room.”

“Oh, alright. I’ve been following the Skynet Operation program these past few days and learned about your bank. I wanted to get a better understanding before making any decisions,” Wang Yun replied cheerfully, following her to the VIP room.

“Then, sir, you’ve certainly come to the right place. While Nancheng Bank may be smaller, our services and security are top-notch.”

The duty manager enthusiastically poured Wang Yun a glass of water. For a small bank like Nancheng, a client intending to invest a million was significant, and deserving of warm hospitality.

The manager on duty began an in-depth introduction for Wang Yun, covering everything from the bank’s history and security features to the specifics of their safes. All with remarkable enthusiasm.

Wang Yun listened intently, his mind actively processing the information. The security level at Nancheng Bank was indeed impressive. With their own power generation system, their internal security was robust.

To open the safe, the collaboration of the security manager, the customer manager, and the savings manager was essential. Without them, it remained locked.

However, it wasn’t as complicated as one might think. Any individual from the ranks of the chairman or the general manager could easily open it. After all, the safe was routinely accessed every few days to distribute cash to other branches.

Yet, for Wang Yun alone, cracking open the safe and bolting with the cash was an immense challenge.

Wang Yun estimated that to successfully raid the Nancheng Bank Headquarters, it would require a team of five or six and at least twenty minutes. The entire process, from entry to breaking into the safe, and finally making off with the loot, was time-consuming. It was a significant obstacle.

If he took more than twenty minutes, he would be surrounded and trapped before even securing the money.

In movies, the robbers often resort to taking hostages to facilitate their escape with the loot. Wang Yun considered that if he truly wanted to pull off the heist, he might need to emulate those cinematic tactics. But figuring out the logistics of the theft and escape presented another monumental challenge.

Contemplating his next move, Wang Yun turned his attention to his personal attributes.

Shock Value: 7.3 million

Shop: (Open or not?)

Tip: The host is advised to acquire more shock value to enhance physique and skills.

How to utilize these skills in the upcoming battle? He pondered over the god-level skills he possessed.

This was his ace in the hole for overwhelmingly defeating the program inspection team. Moreover, he currently had over seven million shock value points.

His current skills, however, offered little help in infiltrating Nancheng Bank. He opened the system shop, examining it intently. Then, his eyes lit up as he spotted a particular skill.

‘System, purchase the god-level hypnosis skill,’ Wang Yun thought.

Wang Yun had some understanding of hypnosis, a legitimate profession in the real world.

Regarding hypnosis, there is a famous skill known as the “Human Bridge.” Under the hypnotist’s influence, the body becomes a bridge that can be suspended in the air and stood upon. Concepts like brainwashing and suggestion in reality have some connection to hypnosis.

Hypnosis was categorized into three levels: light, medium, and deep.

Light hypnosis primarily resulted in motor inhibition, medium hypnosis led to sensory suppression and deep hypnosis induced hallucinations.

Indeed, deep hypnosis could trigger hallucinatory experiences.

As Wang Yun assimilated the information about hypnosis and its application, his eyes shone with excitement.

This god-level hypnosis skill was truly formidable.

It wasn’t as over-the-top as movie characters, controlling people with just a snap of the fingers. However, through continuous suggestion, induction, and manipulation, it was indeed possible to hypnotize someone to follow commands for a short period.

Of course, these commands must not cross someone’s boundaries, like compelling someone to kill or commit suicide. Crossing these lines could cause the hypnosis to fail.

Wang Yun glanced at the duty manager beside him, a slight smirk on his lips, as he began the hypnotic process.

The morning flew by swiftly. Wang Yun and the duty manager engaged in great conversation and even shared a meal outside. Most of this interaction, about eighty percent, was influenced by hypnotic suggestions.

In the afternoon, Wang Yun continued the hypnosis, having fully gained the manager’s trust. He then had the manager summon three employees. One of them bore a ninety percent resemblance to Wang Yun.

A new plan was set into motion.

Meanwhile, in the program’s task force, Wang Yue slightly furrowed her brow and said, “It seems Wang Yun and his group are in hiding. It’s been more than a day without any update on their bounty.”

The pursuit was ongoing. Despite yesterday’s failure and the significant setback, they had to persevere. They couldn’t just give up. They firmly believed that eventually, they would succeed.

“We gathered some information by hacking into the traffic system to investigate the vehicles on that road yesterday. However, Wang Yun and his team are very cautious, so we need to send program officers to conduct an on-site investigation,” Ames stated.

They had retrieved footage from dashcams on vehicles passing under the No. 3 overpass, capturing the moment Hu Sanqing and his group boarded a box truck. But even though they were located, Wang Yun’s vigilance was evident. He had cleverly evaded surveillance in blind spots.

Currently, Hu Sanqing and his team were hidden, eluding the program task force, which hadn’t received any reward updates. It was necessary to deploy someone to investigate the area for any leads.

“Alright, let’s send some officers to look into it,” Wu Mingyu nodded in agreement.

At that moment, a knock on the door interrupted them.

“Hmm? Please, come in,” Wu Yaoming invited, turning to the door.

“Hello, hope I’m not interrupting,” said a slightly handsome young man as he entered, speaking in broken Chinese.

He wasn’t very tall and wore sunglasses. His well-built physique exuded a strong presence. Dressed entirely in black, with a katana strapped to his back, his appearance was notably unique, resembling a kind of cosplay.

“Who might you be?” Hong Jian, who was closer to the door, asked curiously.

“Allow me to introduce myself, I’m Captain Mita from the Skynet Operation Program’s Inspection Team Japan,” Captain Mita said with a smile.

His gaze swept the room before settling on Ying Yuezi. He walked straight over and greeted her in Japanese.

Ying Yuezi responded in kind, and they began conversing in Japanese.

***

“Huh? The program Captain from Japan? Have they come here?”

“Wow, are they from Japan’s program inspection team? Are they here to take down Big Brother?”

“Look, the first international program task force has arrived. This is going to be exciting!”

The live audience was abuzz with excitement upon witnessing the arrival of the inspection team leader from Japan.

Wang Yun versus an international program inspection team, this was going to be entertaining.

“You, the captain from Japan, should speak more respectfully,” Wu Mingyu, who understood the language, suddenly interjected. He stared at Captain Mita with a slight frown and spoke in a cold tone.

“Eh?”

His remark caused Wu Yaoming, Kolyev, and others to pause in surprise, turning their gaze toward Wu Mingyu.

“Captain Mita, as a guest, basic politeness is still expected,” Ying Yuezi also chimed in, no longer speaking in Japanese, but addressing Captain Mita with a cold reminder.

“Yuezi, I didn’t say anything incorrect. You don’t need to stay with them. They’ve been trying to catch Wang Yun for days without success, and they’ve lost so many inspectors. It’s pathetic. Join our team, we’ve brought many strong players this time,” Captain Mita said, unbothered that Wu Mingyu understood his words, continuing in Chinese.

His tone was laced with arrogance and contempt.

“What? Can’t you speak properly?” Kolyev’s gaze turned icy as he slammed his hand on the table, fixing Captain Mita with a stern stare.

“Did I say anything wrong?” Captain Mita responded, shrugging indifferently. “Isn’t it the truth? You’ve been repeatedly defeated by Wang Yun, failing to capture him for so long, and at such great loss. If I were in your place, I would have committed seppuku by now.”

“You…”

Kolyev glared, his face turning menacing, as if ready to erupt in anger at any moment. Yet, he found himself at a loss for words in response to Captain Mita’s provocation.

Wu Mingyu, Wu Yaoming, and others nearby wore expressions of discomfort, sternly watching Captain Mita. They hadn’t expected the Captain from Japan to be so blatantly arrogant, openly mocking them.

“Captain Mita, don’t be overconfident. Do you really think catching Wang Yun is that easy?” Ying Ying Yuezi, with a flicker of disgust in her eyes, spoke coldly to him.

“I’m aware that Wang Yun isn’t easy to capture, but repeated failures like theirs won’t happen to us. Are you sure you won’t consider joining our team, Yuezi?” Captain Mita, smiling at Ying Yuezi, continued, “Our team is the strongest, and you are one of our elite.”

“No, I am currently with the China Program Inspection Team.” Ying Yuezi shook her head, firmly rejecting his offer.

“In that case, Yuezi, after our team defeats Wang Yun, may I invite you to dinner?”

Despite being turned down, Captain Mita wasn’t disheartened and asked her again, smiling.

“If you really do defeat Wang Yun, then yes,” responded Ying Yuezi, her tone neutral.

“It’s a deal then. Rest assured, I’ll make it my mission to take down Wang Yun within three days,” Captain Mita declared confidently, gripping the sword hilt on his back.

However, his words and actions instantly set the livestream abuzz.
